Tucker DeVries Named in 2025 NBA Mock Draft

Tucker DeVries enters his first season at West Virginia and is facing pressure from several sources.

As the son of Darian DeVries, the head coach charged with turning around the Mountaineer team that went 9-23 last season and finished last in the Big 12, and as the top recruit for the 2024-25 season, Tucker DeVries has expectations to uphold in Morgantown.

Now that 2025 NBA Draft mocks are beginning to make their rounds online, the pressure is on for DeVries to secure his future. The Athletic released its first 2025 NBA mock draft on Wednesday, and DeVries made the cut for a second-round projection.

DeVries was selected 37th overall and did not receive a full bio from The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie. But with his name so early in the first round, a successful senior season could put him in contention for a guaranteed rookie contract.

DeVries is expected to finish just behind Auburn’s 6-foot-1 center Johni Broome and ahead of 6-foot-1 Iowa wing Payton Sandfort.
