A severe thunderstorm will be in effect until 10:00 PM CDT for most of the Texas/Oklahoma panhandles and all of eastern New Mexico.

EXTENDED FORECAST – Today will be a WEATHER WARNING DAY across the area as another storm develops in the far northwest panhandles. Baseball size hail is the immediate concern with any supercell thunderstorm that manages to develop, but a few brief tornadoes are also possible before 9 p.m. Damaging winds up to 75 miles per hour will be the primary threat to the eastern panhandles as storms form a linear line late tonight. Given recent rainfall has saturated soils in several parts of the High Plains, localized flooding can be expected this evening with any significant rainfall. Make sure you stay up to date with weather forecasts and receive severe weather warnings in several ways. We’ve got you covered! We will continue to have a chance of severe storms on both Friday and Saturday evening, but overall chances will decrease somewhat over the course of the weekend. Expect temperatures to remain in the low 80s for daytime highs this week. A strong ridge will form over the area next week, causing temperatures to reach 100 degrees by Tuesday afternoon. Fortunately, this will be short-lived and temperatures will relax a bit next week, back into the 90s. Stay ready for the weather!
