Columbus police continue to investigate the murder of Latonya Green along the city’s railroad tracks

COLUMBUS, O — The Columbus Police Department is asking for the public’s help in gathering information related to the murder of Latonya Green. Her remains were discovered on July 23, 2023 near the railroad tracks on the 30 block of W Hinman Avenue on the city’s south side.

The investigation, conducted by the coroner’s office, concluded on December 28, 2023 and officially ruled Ms. Green’s death a homicide. The details surrounding her death are still under investigation and detectives are urging anyone who may have information about Ms Green or the incident to come forward.

Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact Columbus Police Detective Journey at (614) 645-4953, the Homicide Unit at (614) 645-4730, or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS (8477). Detective Journey is the lead detective on this case and any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be crucial to solving this tragic case and bringing closure to Ms. Green’s family.
