The Premiere Playhouse Presents Iconic Rock ‘n’ Roll Musical ‘Hair’

SIOUX FALLS, SD (Dakota News Now) – Let your hair down and watch the latest Premiere Playhouse musical to light up the Orpheum Theater in Sioux Falls.

Managing Artistic Director Oliver Mayes and actor Clinton Store came into the studio to talk about what to expect from the iconic rock ‘n’ roll musical.

“’Hair: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical’ is a musical set in the Lower East Side of New York City in the late 1960s, where a bunch of hippies tell their story in terms of protesting social norms and exerting energy of peace, love, freedom and joy,” Mayes said.

Store said the show is a challenging production in terms of music and choreography, and he enjoyed the experience of preparing the classic show.

“Even if they haven’t seen the movie or the play, they’ve heard the music,” Store said. “Everyone knows ‘Aquarius.’ Everyone knows ‘Let the sun shine.’”

The adult show features adult content and runs June 13-23 at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls.
