Casper Spuds will host Special Olympics Wyoming athletes on July 12

CASPER, Wyo. – The Casper Spuds baseball team will host Special Olympics Wyoming athletes for Spuds Day on July 12 at Mike Lansing Field in Casper, according to a news release from Special Olympics Wyoming.

According to the release, athletes in the Special Olympics Wyoming program will compete at Mike Lansing Field next to the Spuds on July 12 at 4:30 p.m. to learn new baseball techniques and styles and play with the Spuds players themselves.

Special Olympics Wyoming athletes are also invited to the Spuds match immediately following the event when they take on the Hastings Sodbusters on July 12 at 6 p.m.

The athletes will have special access to reserved seating, concessions and will be invited to participate in baseball-themed activities and competitions, the release said.

Special Olympics Wyoming encourages interested athletes to register or request more information about the event at the Special Olympics office.
