Steve Klauke, presenter of Salt Lake Bees for almost thirty years, has passed away

Steve Klauke, who was the voice of the Salt Lake Bees for nearly 30 seasons and a prominent figure in Utah sports broadcasting, died at the age of 69, the team announced.

Klauke retired in September 2022 after completing his 29th season with the Bees. If not for the COVID-19 pandemic forcing a pause in baseball, it would have been his 30th.

“Steve will forever be remembered as ‘the voice of the bees’ and holds a special place in our hearts,” team owner Gail Miller said in a statement.

Steve Starks, CEO of the Larry H. Miller Company, said Klauke had an immeasurable impact on the community.

“Steve was a friend, a fan and an incredible sportscaster,” Starks said. “He leaves behind a strong legacy, not only for the Bees, but for our entire community.”
