Terrance Edwards cancels visit, moves up commitment date

This past weekend was busy on the Virginia Tech campus regarding the recruitment of football coach Brent Pry. He received several recruits in future classes and even got a commitment in the Class of 2025 when Sheldon Robinson committed to giving the Hokies five recruits in that class so far.

Several other recruits were on campus in that class last weekend and one recruit spoke about his journey and what the coaching staff told him ahead of a soon-to-commit summer.

One recruit on campus this weekend was a three-star from Virginia who the Hokies coaching staff is prioritizing. Terrance Edwards, a native of Richmond, Virginia and a standout from Trinity Episcopal School, spoke about what some coaches said to him during his visit.

“(Head coach Brent Pry) met with me and my family with Mines, Cheetah and Marve. They let me know that I am a priority to them and they will be there for me whenever I am ready. They let me know that VT is home for me and my family”

Terrance Edwards

It’s not surprising that Virginia Tech is one of the leaders for Edwards as they are building a very good class so far on the defensive side of the ball after Robinson committed this weekend. As for Edwards, he had an official visit scheduled for June 14 to Michigan State and then announced his decision on June 22, but he canceled his visit and will now make its decision next Saturday. It is believed he will choose between Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

According to 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction, Virginia Tech is expected to get a commitment in just over two weeks from Edwards, the 16th-ranked player in Virginia in the class of 2025. Edwards told 247Sports’ Evan Watkins that the Hokies “are in a good place and he could put himself there sucks” in what would be a huge pickup for Pry and his defensive staff.
