Thursday, June 13 – MPAC presents “Abducted By The ’80s” with Wang Chung, The Motels, and Naked Eyes. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) — Wang Chung, The Motels, and Naked Eyes have joined forces to create a musical extravaganza that transports audiences to the heart of the neon-soaked, synth-driven decade with the Abducted by the ’80s Tour, coming to Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 7:30pm.

Pioneer Productions Brings Fresh Take to the Timeless Musical “Godspell”. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) — Pioneer Productions is proud to present a bold and captivating production of the beloved musical Godspell across two weekends (June 14-16 and June 21-23, 2024) in Morristown. This masterful retelling of the original sensation Godspell from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz, the 2012 revival is injected with contemporary references and dazzling new arrangements.

Friday, June 14 – Mile Square Theatre presents Parenting is a Joke with Ophira Eisenberg and Chris Gethard. (HOBOKEN, NJ) — Mile Square Theatre presents an exclusive evening of comedy featuring acclaimed comics Ophira Eisenberg and Chris Gethard. The two will each do a set of comedy and record an episode of Eisenberg’s podcast “Parenting is a Joke” on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 7:00pm.

Friday, June 14 – “Liar…Liar – Pants on Fire!” comes to Alkemy Coffee in Flemington. (FLEMINGTON, NJ) — Call it a cross between a game show and a story slam: Four storytellers. One complete liar. The audience gets to grill, interrogate and query the storytellers to figure out using their best Sherlock Holmes insight to figure out who the fabulous fabricator is. “Liar…Liar – Pants on Fire!” comes to Alkemy Coffee in Flemington on Friday, June 14, 2024. Showtime is 7:00pm.

Saturday, June 15 – Don’t miss Marissa Nadler in Concert at the 2024 New Jersey International Film Festival on Saturday, June 15. (NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) — Over the course of nearly 20 tireless years of writing, recording, and touring, Marissa Nadler has amassed one of the most singular catalogs in contemporary music. Her work glides between delicate folk, windswept Americana, doom metal-adjacent darkness, meditative ambient music, and fearlessly experimental sounds, all anchored in her unmistakable singing voice and finger-style guitar. You can catch her live in concert at the New Jersey International Film Festival on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 7:00pm.

Saturday, June 15 – Cirque du Soliel’s Sandy Cameron to join NJ Festival Orchestra for Outdoor Season Finale in Westfield on June 15th. (WESTFIELD, NJ) — The New Jersey Festival Orchestra is back outdoors in Westfield on Saturday, June 15, 2024 for a season finale starring virtuoso violinist Sandy Cameron performing Prokofievs’s renowned Violin Concerto No. 2. The concert will also feature music by Beethoven and Stravinsky, a performance made possible in part through sponsorship by Ray Catena of Mercedes-Benz, Union.

Saturday, June 15 – The Many Iterations of Chazz Palminteri’s ‘A Bronx Tale’. “The saddest thing in life is wasted talent.” Those words have served to inspire and haunt me for nearly two decades.

Saturday, June 15 – bergenPAC presents Almost Queen on Saturday. (ENGLEWOOD, NJ) — The most authentic Queen tribute show since the days of Queen themselves, Almost Queen, will rock the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 8:00pm. The Steve Leonard Trio will open the show.

Wednesday, June 12 – The Newton Theatre presents Eli Young Band. (NEWTON, NJ) — The Newton Theatre presents Eli Young Band on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 8:00pm. Since the band’s formation as college classmates 20 years ago, the Associated Press has celebrated EYB as “a smart, relevant antidote” to overdone clichés in Country music.

Wednesday, June 12 – Stone Pony Summer Stage presents Gary Clark Jr. as Part of North to Shore Music Festival. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) — The North to Shore Music Festival, presented by Prudential, presents Gary Clark Jr., who will rock the legendary Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 6:30pm. Gates are open at 5:00pm.

Wednesday, June 12 – Flying V Productions presents ElephantProof with Turtle Logic at The Homestead Bar & Kitchen. (MORRISTOWN, NJ) — Flying V Productions presents ElephantProof with Turtle Logic at The Homestead Bar & Kitchen on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. A tight-knit quartet comprised of some of Boston’s finest musicians, ElephantProof stands as an enchanting embodiment of dynamic and eclectic sonic energy. Doors open at 7:00pm.

Thursday, June 13 – K-Pop Stars ITZY to Perform at Prudential Center. (NEWARK, NJ) — Critically-acclaimed K-Pop powerhouses ITZY return to the global stage for ITZY 2ND WORLD TOUR , a show stopping run of electrifying performances across 18 countries this spring and summer with a stop at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, on Sunday, June 13, 2024.

Thursday, June 13 – North to Shore Festival Brings Band of Horses and Lake Street Dive to Stone Pony Summer Stage. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) — The North to Shore Music Festival, a one-of-a-kind event presented by Prudential, has two great shows at The Stone Pony Summer Stage. First is Band of Horses with Sunshine Spazz opening the night on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 6:30pm and then Lake Street Dive headlines the Summer Stage on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 6:30pm.

Thursday, June 13 – Classical, Baroque, and Cross-Over Music Can Be Heard at Princeton Festival Chamber Concerts this June. (PRINCETON, NJ) — Chamber music abounds at the June 2024 Princeton Festival with music to suit a variety of tastes performed by the Abeo Quartet and The Sebastians at Trinity Church, and Empire Wild in the Festival’s performance pavilion at Morven Museum & Garden.

Friday, June 14 – 2nd Week of Princeton Festival includes Mozart’s comic masterpiece and American Repertory Ballet performance with PSO Strings. (PRINCETON, NJ) — The second week of this year’s Princeton Festival kicks off with performances of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s comic masterpiece Così fan tutte on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 7:00pm and Sunday, June 16 at 4:00pm, with a final 7:00pm performance on Tuesday, June 18. In between, on Saturday, June 15 at 7:00pm, is an evening of music and dance, Interwoven: American Repertory Ballet + PSO Strings. Both events take place in the performance pavilion on the grounds of Morven Museum & Garden.

Friday, June 14 – Lake Street Dive to Kick Off Tour at Stone Pony Summer Stage June 14th. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) — Acclaimed band Lake Street Dive will kick off their Good Together Tour on Friday, June 14, 2024 at Stone Pony Summer Stage. The band’s new album, Good Together, is set for release on June 21st and marks the group’s debut for Fantasy Records.

Friday, June 14 – Juneteenth: A Celebration of Liberation – A Night of Music, Dance, Poetry & More in Rahway. (RAHWAY, NJ) — American Theater Group (ATG), in partnership with the New Jersey Creative Arts Collaborative (NJCAC) and Union County Performing Arts Center (UCPAC), will present Juneteenth: A Celebration of Liberation at Hamilton Stage (360 Hamilton Street) in Rahway, NJ, on June 14, 2024 at 7:30pm.

Saturday, June 15 – Guitarfest, a Free Celebration of Classical Guitar, to Be Held at Kean University on Saturday. (UNION, NJ) — Kean University will celebrate classical guitar in all its splendor at the third annual Guitarfest on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Enlow Recital Hall in Hillside. The free music festival is open to the public and includes two back-to-back concerts.

Sunday, June 16 – Jarod Clemons and the Late Nights to Pay Tribute to Clarence Clemons at Wonder Bar. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) — The North to Shore Music Festival, presented by Prudential, presents Jarod Clemons and the Late Nights, will pay tribute to Jarod’s father, the late Clarence Clemons, the longtime saxophonist in Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band. This special performance will take place on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 16, 2024 at the Wonder Bar. Showtime is 7:00pm.

THEATRE

Lantern Theater Company to Close 30th Anniversary Season with William Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors”. (PHILADELPHIA, PA) — Lantern Theater Company will close its 30th anniversary season with The Comedy of Errors, part of the company’s ongoing commitment to produce the timeless stories of William Shakespeare for both the general public and local school students. Lantern Artistic Director Charles McMahon directs an ensemble cast of Lantern veterans, including Morgan Charéce Hall, J Hernandez, Dave Johnson, Brian McCann, Lee Minora, Kishia Nixon, Matteo Scammell, and Zach Valdez. The Comedy of Errors runs Thursday, May 16 through Sunday, June 16, 2024, at St. Stephen’s Theater in Center City Philadelphia.

Surflight Theatre presents “Million Dollar Quartet”. (BEACH HAVEN, NJ) — Surflight Theatre will open their 75th Season of Broadway at the Beach with Million Dollar Quartet from May 30 through June 16, 2024. If you grew up listening to any of the hitmakers that were discovered by Sam Phillips, you won’t want to miss out on seeing Million Dollar Quartet – a musical based on the auspicious meeting between four of the greatest rockers of all time in 1956 at Sun Records in Memphis. The men were Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley, and for one night only they jammed together.

Paper Mill Playhouse announces cast and creative for “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical”. (MILLBURN, NJ) — Paper Mill Playhouse has announced the full cast and creative team for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, featuring a book by Oscar, Emmy and Tony Award nominee Douglas McGrath and words and music by Gerry Goffin & Carole King and Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil. Casey Hushion will helm the production, with choreography by Jennifer Werner and music direction by Wendy Bobbitt Cavett. Beautiful will play June 5 to July 3, 2024 at Paper Mill Playhouse.

The Lord Stirling Theater Company presents “The Wisdom of Eve” – a tale of ambition, jealousy, and fame in New York’s theater world. (BASKING RIDGE, NJ) — The Lord Stirling Theater Company will present The Wisdom of Eve in the English Barn Theater at the Farmstead Arts Center across two weekends (June 7-9 and June 14-15, 2024). This is a tale of ambition, jealousy, and fame in New York’s theater world.

Playhouse 22 presents Award-Winning Musical, ‘Memphis’. (EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) — Playhouse 22’s 65th season closes this month with the musical Memphis which runs from June 7-23, 2024. From the underground dance clubs of 1950’s Memphis, Tennessee, this is a Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical that bursts off the stage with explosive dancing, irresistible songs and a thrilling tale of fame and forbidden love.

Two River Theater presents August Wilson’s “Gem of the Ocean”. (RED BANK, NJ) — Two River Theater has announced the cast and creative team for August Wilson’s Gem of the Ocean, the seventh production in Two River Theater’s commitment to stage all ten of Wilson’s visionary epics in the American Century Cycle, directed by San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Award Winner, Delicia Turner Sonnenberg (Appropriate, Trouble in Mind). The production runs June 8-30, 2024.

(MILLBURN, NJ) — Paper Mill Playhouse has released production photos for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, featuring a book by Oscar, Emmy and Tony Award nominee Douglas McGrath and words and music by Gerry Goffin & Carole King and Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil. Directed by Casey Hushion, choreographed by Jennifer Werner and music directed by Wendy Bobbitt Cavett. Beautiful is on stage now through July 3, 2024 at Paper Mill Playhouse. Classic American Tales offers a free playwriting workshop in Cape May Court House. (CAPE MAY, NJ) — On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, Classic American Theater (CAT) is offering a Playwriting Workshop for free at The Cape May Court House Public Library (30 Mechanic Street) in Cape May Court House, NJ. The workshop, for ages 17 on up, is geared for those who have written plays, as well as those who have always wanted to try their hand at it. The workshop runs from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.

Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey to hold “Revelry” Fundraiser featuring Tony Award-winner Matt Doyle in Concert. (MADISON, NJ) — The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents “Revelry,” an exclusive fundraising soirée and concert set to take place on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Mead Hall and The F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre on the campus of Drew University. The evening festivities will include cocktails and gourmet grazing, a fabulous silent auction, and an intimate concert performance by Tony Award-winner Matt Doyle, performing some favorites from Broadway and beyond.

Do It Big Productions presents “Annie JR” at The Levoy Theatre. (MILLVILLE, NJ) — Do It Big Productions presents: Annie JR at The Levoy Theatre on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 7:00pm and Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 2:00pm. The classic tale of everyone’s favorite red-headed, tap-dancing orphan starring young, local talent. This performance is perfect for adults and young children alike due to its shortened runtime.

Jersey City Theater Center presents Voices International Theatre Festival. Jersey City Theater Center located at 165 Newark Avenue, Jersey City, NJ (entrance from Barrow Street). 

A New Twist on Shakespeare Classic ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ at Kelsey Theatre June 14-23. (WEST WINDSOR, NJ) — It’s a modern twist on an all-time classic comedy when Shakespeare 70 presents William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream June 14-23, 2024 at the Kelsey Theatre on Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC) West Windsor Campus. The generation gap, unrequited love, and marital misunderstandings have abounded throughout history, and so it is with this updated version of the Shakespeare classic.

Music Mountain Theatre presents “Avenue Q”. (LAMBERTVILLE, NJ) — Music Mountain Theatre (MMT) presents Avenue Q for a three-weekend run from June 14-30, 2024. Avenue Q, the 2003 winner of the Tony “Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book, is part flesh, part felt, and packed with heart, and will be the eighth mainstage show of MMT’s 2024 season.

Saturday, June 15 – moe-tion dance theater presents Intermix ~ A Choreography Showcase at Centenary Stage Company. (HACKETTSTOWN, NJ) — Under the artistic direction of Maureen Glennon Clayton, moe-tion dance theater will present a new event, Intermix ~ A Choreography Showcase, as part of the Centenary Stage Company’s season at Centenary University on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 7:00pm.

Saturday, June 15 – StocktonPAC presents Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana. (GALLOWAY, NJ) — Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana, a premier dancing company celebrating 40 years, is set to take over the Stockton University Performing Arts Center’s main stage on Saturday, June 15, 2024. Showtime is 8:00pm.

Thursday, June 13 – 503 Social Club in Hoboken to host Music and Poetry Benefit for NJ Peace Action. (HOBOKEN, NJ) — On Thursday, June 13, 2024, there will be a music and poetry event at 503 Social Club in Hoboken to benefit New Jersey Peace Action, a New Jersey chapter of the largest grassroots peace-advocacy group in the United States. The event runs from 7:00pm to 9:30pm.

Thursday, June 13 – 2024 Annual Hamilton Arts Festival to Take Place June 13-22. (PATERSON, NJ) — The Paterson Performing Arts Development Council (PPADC) presents the 2024 Annual Hamilton Arts Festival (HAF). Now in its fourth season, the festival runs June 13–22, 2024, and features a series of events designed to promote and showcase the works of underrepresented and underserved artists from theater, film, and other disciplines.

Saturday, June 15 – WBID’s Sustainably Green Music & Arts Fest to Kick off Farmers Market Season. (WASHINGTON, NJ) — Washington Borough will show off its green on June 15, and it’s not about being Irish. In its annual celebration of being designated as one of the greenest communities in New Jersey, Washington Borough will kick off to its award-winning weekly farmers market by combining it once again with the Sustainably Green Music & Arts Fest in Downtown Washington on Saturday, June 15. The event, a partnership of the Washington Business Improvement District and the Washington Borough Green Team, includes a host of vendors, musical acts, and family friendly activities. The festival action takes place throughout the Downtown (Route 57) and in Veterans Park from 10:00am to 5:00pm.

Saturday, June 15 – Asbury Underground Returns As Part of North to Shore Festival. (ASBURY PARK, NJ) — The Asbury Underground Downtown Art and Music Crawl, a much-loved city tradition which fills the streets of downtown Asbury Park with FREE concerts, comedy shows and poetry readings, will be held again this year for the first time since 2019. This year’s crawl will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from noon to 7:00pm.

Saturday, June 15 – Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum Announces Juneteenth Artist Lineup. (SKILLMAN, NJ) — The Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum (SSAAM), Central New Jersey’s only museum sharing the history of African Americans since the trans-Atlantic Slave trade, will hold its third annual Juneteenth celebration on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm (rain or shine) at Mt. Zion AME Church and historic True Farmstead in Skillman.

Monday, June 17 – Hear the Legacy of Juneteenth at the Ocean County Library Brick Branch. (BRICK TOWNSHIP, NJ) — – Juneteenth is a day to celebrate emancipation, and to pay homage to countless individuals whose sacrifices great and small made it possible. Join Storyteller Michelle Washington Wilson for “When the Cavalry Came to Call” at the Ocean County Library Brick Branch on Monday, June 17, 2024. The event begins at 3:00pm.
