The countdown has begun for the World Junior Rodeo Championship

The 16-year-old bull rider from Cleveland, Utah is looking forward to competing at the famous Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma at the end of July.

Dalton Allred recently captured the Utah High School State Champion title in bull riding and will compete for a national title on July 14e-20e in Wyoming.

Although Allred is starting to make a name for himself in bull riding, the sport was not what he set out to do. The young cowboy originally hoped to one day play in the NBA, but suffered two torn ACL injuries in the same knee a year apart. Instead of becoming discouraged by the loss of his dreams, Allred shifted his attention to a new direction.

“I’m super grateful for everything that happened to get me here. If it hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t want it so much,” Allred exclaims. This cowboy’s courage shines through his story to the payment window.

Allred continues his summer journey in hopes of claiming the World Junior Rodeo Bull Riding Championship title July 23-27.
