Softball live score Florida vs. Texas, updates, highlights from the 2024 Women’s College World Series

The Women’s College World Series is heating up as the annual NCAA softball tournament heads into its first weekend.

Saturday’s two-match slate features four of the top six teams, looking to avoid their first defeat of the tournament. The late game is (4) Florida vs. (1) Texas, starting on Saturday, June 1 at 7:00 PM in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Texas (53-8) doesn’t have many flaws. Of the team’s qualified hitters, the Longhorns have two players with a batting average of at least .400 and another seven players above .340. Eight players have at least 1,000 OPS this season.

Reese Atwood played for the Longhorns in her second season. She leads the team with a .430 batting average, 1.396 OPS, 77 hits, 23 home runs, 90 RBIs and .894 slugging.

Her 23 home runs are fifth in the nation and 90 RBIs rank first.

Texas also features a trio of excellent pitchers Citlaly Gutierrez, Mac Morgan and Teagan Kavan.

For Florida (52-13), Korbe Otis and Skylar Wallace dominated this year. Both players have an OPS over 1.300 and a batting average of .400. However, that doesn’t mean the rest of the team is leaning on them.

Four other hitters are above .300, and Jocelyn Erickson is second in the nation with 80 RBIs.
