The downtown farmers market is back for the 2024 season

SALT LAKE CITY It is a clear sign of summer.

The Salt Lake City Downtown Farmers Market is back and opens Saturday for the 2024 season.

“I never thought I would sell so much rice and so many beans,” Fierro said.

Of the Downtown Farmers Market’s 33 years of existence, Fierro has been a vendor here for 26 years.

He couldn’t wait for this day to do it all again.

“The reason I love this market is because it allowed me to build a business,” says Fierro.

His Rico Brands food has become a big deal in Utah thanks to the Downtown Farmers Market.

It’s exactly what Rob Gilmore hopes for his small business.

Gilmore and his wife, Emily, own Twigs and Branch Gardens and this is their first time selling at the Downtown Farmers Market.

“We are small. We grow our food on borrowed land in Holladay. Two different homeowners with large plots of land. They let us grow food on their land,” Rob Gilmore said.
