27 people shot, one killed in overnight shooting in Akron – Jordan Miller News

In the early hours of Sunday, June 2, the Akron Police Department’s 911 center was flooded with calls about gunshots in the area of ‚Äč‚ÄčKelly Ave and 8th Ave. Several victims were said to have been affected, officers responded quickly and arrived on the scene.

Local hospitals alerted the call center about the influx of people arriving at their emergency rooms with gunshot wounds. The situation has resulted in a total of twenty-seven casualties, of which one fatality is a 27-year-old man. Authorities recovered one firearm and numerous shell casings from the area.
